𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 Megan and Ryan take Technical Communications at Liberty University together. Alas, they don’t meet. 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 Megan arrives at the townhouse she is renting off-campus with her friends, Sarah and Nicole. Nicole shows her a picture of her brother, Ryan. Megan has never met him. He’s cute ♡ 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 Ryan comes over to the townhouse to hang with his sister. Ryan and Megan MEET! They shake hands (and both remember this fateful meeting). 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Many Sundays later, Ryan comes over to eat a delicious lunch with his sister, and Megan joins as usual. Nicole leaves the room; Ryan asks Megan if she wants to go on a walk. Megan hesitates. She wonders if they should wait to ask Nicole to join them—but no! She can read the room, ha! He waited until Nicole had left. Megan agrees to go on a walk. He asks her on a date, aaaaahhhh! 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Ryan and Megan go on their first date—Mizumi’s (a Japanese restaurant). They enter slightly nervous; they leave speckled in Ramen broth. 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Megan never opens any doors in Ryan’s presence again (yes I’m very spoiled). 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Ryan and Megan are officially boyfriend/girlfriend—ooooooooh 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 First weekly(ish) prayer time together 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Ryan and Megan end up systematically trying every international restaurant in Lynchburg (the best is TY Thai Cuisine!) 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 First mountain bike ride together 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Megan goes to Spain for the summer. Ryan and Megan talk long-distance :( :( 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Megan comes back from Spain. Ryan and Megan talk in-person :) :) 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Ryan surprises Megan with a beautiful picnic dinner for their 6 months anniversary (complete with homemade sushi and a song he wrote for her on his guitar—she joins him with ukulele). 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Megan’s first endo (flying over the handlebars of a bike). Ryan is very gallantly concerned for her; Megan is still having a great time (Ryan describes how graceful Megan’s fall is—woohoo!!) 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Megan’s brother Nate does not duel Ryan for Megan’s hand as he threatened when they meet. Megan is happy. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 Ryan’s family comes up to visit Megan’s family. Ryan’s family leaves; Ryan and Megan go on a short hike to the Potomac River. They enjoy the hot tea and the setting sun. Megan wants to linger; Ryan is worried about the sun going down. So, they start to pack up—she grabs Ryan’s backpack while he rolls the blanket. He stops, takes the backpack from her (thank you!), sets it down on the floor (???), continues rolling the blanket. Okaaaaay…Megan turns to go. She hears Ryan say something, turns around, he’s down on one knee holding a ring out and asking her to marry him—yeeeeeeee-aaaaaas!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH EEEEEEEEEEH!!! YES!!!!! (lots of jumping ensues). They return to the house, barging in and covered with smiles. Ryan’s family is still there, both families celebrate! 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 – 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 Megan does not let go of Ryan’s hand.

After our wedding, Ryan and Megan will be renting a private basement apartment on a beautiful farm in Lynchburg, VA. Ryan will start graduate school in robotics engineering at Liberty University, and Megan will start teaching Algebra II at a local high school. Looking back over the past year and a half, it has been amazing to see how God has worked out His perfect story. We cannot wait for you to celebrate with us as we look to the future!
