Neighbors

Summer of 2011

We met in Milwaukee, WI during a summer internship at Kohl’s Department Stores corporate office. Kohl's put us up in dorms for the summer and we were lucky enough to be next door neighbors. We spent the summer becoming great friends!

Roommates

2012 - 2015

Our internship led to full-time jobs and after we both started working - we became roommates (as friends!) for almost 3 years. As roommates, we became best friends and each other's "person". It wasn't until our lease was ending that we realized how much more there was to our relationship, and how much we didn't want to spend a day apart.

Dating

September 12, 2015

When we moved out from being roommates is where our real story began. We wanted to - and pretty much did - see each other every day and grew closer though living apart. A year went by and we decided to move back in together - as a couple! A quick 6 months later, Nina got a new job and we relocated to Denver, CO. Colorado has been an incredible adventure for us. We spend most of our days hiking, camping, brewery hopping, skiing/snowboarding, and taking in all that the Rockies have to offer! We blinked and a year and half later…

Engaged

July 28, 2018

SURPRISE OF THE CENTURY! Ryan planned a hike for us to take in Canyon City, CO at The Royal Gorge (featured in the photo above!). Our morning was filled with multiple delays leaving the apartment and terrible traffic, but we finally made it to the perfect hiking destination! As we began the hike, Ryan was very nervous and Nina had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. About 0.1 miles into the hike (well thought out for pictures; good job, Ryan!) we stopped at an overlook of the whole mountain range. While Nina was taking Insta-worthy pictures, Ryan started telling her how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Nina nodded and agreed as she took in the surroundings - it wasn’t until she turned around and saw him on one knee with a ring that she realized what the day was all about. We spent the next hour taking in the moment and sharing the news with our immediate family. Afterwards we put our phones away, had dinner on a train through the mountains, and toasted to the future. It was the perfect ending to the most unforgettable day! From neighbors, to friends, to roommates, to best friends, to dates, to engaged and soon to be married, we can’t wait to celebrate with you all!
