“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” It all started with the wrong church time and a very patient Ruth. On April 7, 2024, Ruth’s friend invited her to visit a church she hadn’t been to since before COVID. The friend gave her the wrong service time, three hours early, to be exact. "Tania te a lè wi". He was playing the drums, as usual, when he noticed this beautiful lady walking in like an angel. He didn’t know her, but she caught his attention. After the Sunday service, Ruth was chatting with her friends when Standelin, fiercely searching for an in, decided to crash the conversation like an uninvited guest at a party, dropping interesting comments malgre se fi ak fi ki tap pale! Just enough to get her attention without giving away the whole playbook. After a youth event, on the way home, Standelin made a strategic move: he found a way to be in the same car as Ruth. He knew exactly what he was doing. It was his chance to let her know:"Mwen vle konnen ou pi plis. I got my eyes on you." And he meant it. At the time, Ruth wasn’t looking for love. She called her friend and said, "He’s wasting his time. I am so not interested! “Her friend, never one to miss a twist, replied, "Girl, depi w bal zorèy ou, lap pran kè’w!" Fast forward just two months, and after much prayer Standelin was sure: This was the woman, he wanted to spend his life with. As for Ruth, it happened after a quiet evening walk under the stars, sharing stories and dreams. She came home, picked up the phone, and told her friend, joy in her voice: "I believe that Standelin is the partner I’ve been praying for.
