Maid of Honor
Ruthie's second mom and best friend forever, Rachel is Ruthie's big (yet littler) sister, who often helped Ruthie get out of trouble, gave her advice about many things (whether or not she asked for it), directed Ruthie in their two-person family shows since Ruthie was 3, helped tremendously with wedding planning, and produced Ruthie’s adorable niece Izzy. A wonderful actress and an even better sister.
Jamie
Best Man
Jamie will always be Kirk's best man. Ruthie and Kirk's biggest supporter and favorite roommate, Kirk's big brother Jamie had an infectious laugh and big heart. We cherish Jamie as the family history expert, the sweetest of the Thompsons who loved, laughed, and made everyone he met feel special. We think of you and miss you every day, Jamie, and know your spirit and love will be with us on our wedding day and every day forever.
Keanna
Groomswoman/Bridesmaid
Kirk's younger sister and "twin"! The family bartender, Keanna is always the life of the party and loves laughing at Kirk's jokes. If you don't hear her amazing laugh, you are missing out. We love spending time with Keanna and her intelligent son T.J.
Keith
Best Man
Keith is Kirk’s younger brother and all-time favorite basketball player. They spent countless hours playing video games, basketball, and football, creating most of their best memories together. Kirk is proud of his little brother being a wonderful father to Mina and Lennox (Kirk’s niece and nephew).
Jordan
Bridesmaid
Jordan met Ruthie at Temple Isaiah (or AAU, who remembers?) and lived every awkward stage of life together. Best friends since 6th grade, Jordan was (still is) Ruthie’s ride or die especially during the time Ruthie got kicked out of an 18+ club. (Fun fact: Jordan and Ruthie may have won a couple MTV music awards for their music videos.)
Jené
Groomswoman/Bridesmaid
Jené is Kirk’s older sister by one year. Like Kirk, she always has a smile on her face and that’s one of his favorite things about her. Kirk loves to joke about Jené being the softest tough person he knows because she has the sweetest smile but 1,000 tattoos. Jené is a constant source of support Kirk can always depend on.
Molly
Bridesmaid
Molly was randomly assigned as Ruthie’s freshman year college roommate, and they were immediately inseparable. If Ruthie wasn't with Molly (or giving her a piggyback ride), people got worried. Where’s Molly? Where’s Ruthie? They once got locked out of their dorm entrance, so Molly climbed up the side of the building to the second floor, ran down the stairs and let Ruthie in.
Justin
Groomsman
Kirk and Justin have been friends since freshman year of high school. They have remained close throughout the years sharing experiences including going to ‘glow in the dark’ together (first concert), sharing sneaker collections, and just vibing listening to music. Kirk looks up to Justin for his ability to excel academically, finding success in his career, and starting a beautiful family with his lovely wife Jenny. Kirk has his ‘own’ room wherever Justin lives and he hopes that will remain the same since he’ll have a plus one with him from now on (Ruthie).
Dana
Bridesmaid
Dana met Ruthie in college, and the two became hooper sisters and sometimes traveling partners. Once, while Dana was soundly sleeping in the passenger seat, Ruthie accidentally drove all the way to Ohio instead of Chicago. Ruthie felt horrible, thought Dana would be upset, but nope sweet Dana calmed her down. 9 hours out of their way, Dana continued to tell Ruthie to stop apologizing. Dana is an even-keeled, forever friend.
Alex Adamopoulos
Groomsman
Alex and Kirk have been friends since middle school. Kirk was new to the area and very shy, feeling out of place at times. One day, Alex approached Kirk on the bus and asked if he liked sports, they became very close from that day on. The two would spend their summer playing basketball and football together; they even made up their own game called ‘fightball.’ They share the same sense of humor and constantly laugh every time they are together no matter how much time goes by without seeing each other.
Becca
Bridesmaid
Becca met Ruthie before college because fun fact: she is also Jordan’s cousin! Becca ended up at Pitzer and became Ruthie’s roommate, spending HOURS (and days) creating choreographed dances, which they performed alone in their dorm room. They will continue to choreo until they are at least 85 years old.
Shane
Groomsman
Kirk met Shane in middle school but became close friends in high school after making his first organized basketball team freshman year. Kirk thought Shane was the cool kid because he always had fresh kicks, nice basketball jerseys and kept a girlfriend. Shane was a multi-sport athlete which gained him a lot of friendships throughout the years but he always made an effort to maintain his with Kirk no matter where life took the both of them.
Miranda
Bridesmaid
Miranda and Ruthie met in post bacc anatomy class. Ruthie thought Miranda looked cool, so went up to Miranda and may have forced her to be her new friend. Miranda is Ruthie's favorite person to dissect a sheep’s heart with. Fun fact: Their anatomy teacher hated them! lol
Xavier
Groomsman
Xavier is Kirk’s second cousin. They would mostly see each other as kids on family trips to Mississippi. When Xavier moved to Chicago for law school, Kirk and Xavier spent time together going out to eat or enjoying the night life in the city. Kirk loves when Xavier and Ruthie are together because they are always debating about something (but they love each other).
Shayna
Bridesmaid
Shayna was Ruthie’s rock through the hardest OT grad program. They had laughs, anxious outbursts, and a lot of sweat drenched clothing during practicals and patient transfers. (Fun fact: before Ruthie started her OT program, Rachel looked through all the names of classmates and said Shayna would become her best friend because “her name was the coolest.”)
Kyle
Groomsman
Kyle and Kirk met in high school playing basketball. They became close while hanging out with mutual friend’s doing activities consisting of sports, making random videos, and going to parties. When Kyle moved to Chicago Kirk was always a welcomed guest at his apartment. They enjoy attending concerts together, bulls games, riding bikes, and hanging out in the city. Kirk admires Kyle’s ability to remain active and trying new things whether it’s completing a triathlon or investing in equipment to mix music as a DJ.
