We're getting married!

Ruthie and Benji have known each other for as long as they can remember. Their moms have been friends since before Ruthie & Benji were born. They both attended East to West High School, hosted at the Bucher's home. From there, Benji went to Purdue University, while Ruthie stayed in Carmel to complete a year of online school and work full-time. The following year- Ruthie also attended Purdue University. The summer before their Junior year at Purdue, Ruthie and Benji reconnected via pickleball with friends. Over the next year, Ruthie and Benji got to play lots of pickleball together. Ruthie also extended an invite to Benji to attend the Porch, a campus ministry Ruthie led worship at. Ruthie and Benji continued to get to know each other (as friends) over the next year. Somewhere along the way, they both caught feelings for each other, but worried about ruining their friendship. Ruthie would say the "turning point" for her when she realized her feelings, was at Zach and Grace's, her brother and sister in laws wedding June 1, 2024. However, the next day, Ruthie left to study abroad in London. While Ruthie and Benji were bummed to not see each other all summer, it was for the best. They were both able to think and pray (A LOT) about each other. They started talking every day, which eventually led to a phone call on June 16, 2024, where Benji asked Ruthie on a date. From there, the rest is pretty much history. Ruthie came home from her study abroad, and a few days later, they went on their first date on August 5, where they became official. They returned to Purdue for their senior year together where they made countless memories together. After graduating from Purdue, they moved back home. Benji proposed to Ruthie on July 20, 2025- the best day ever!
