The year was 2012. The Jersey City East Congregation hosted the new French class. Who knew bonjour would turn into "Je T'aime"😂😂😂... Ok in all seriousness, here's what happened. While they did meet in 2012 and it was thanks to the French class, Ronald never actually joined. "Even though my mom, sister, niece, aunt and uncle all joined, I knew learning a new language wasn't for me."-RM "Learning French wasn't for him"-RC "At that time...."-RM. Although he never joined the French, Ronald was never too far away. Over the years, Ronald and Ruth saw each other at different events and although he was interested he never approached her. "I honestly thought he hated me"-RC "No!! I was too shy, she was too beautiful!"-RM. Finally in July of 2023, they reconnected at his regional convention. "She heard about it from my sister Kheila, and "just so happened" to visit."-RM "Actually, I usually attend an English convention Every. Single. Year. He just happened to be at this one lol. But I was excited to see him there."-RC. And that happened to be the same weekend of a mutual friend's wedding shower. After connecting there, they both attended the wedding two weeks later where they happened to be seated at the same table. From there they never stopped talking. Ronald encouraged Ruth to finally finish her LDC application, which created more opportunities for them to work together. "That was the plan. I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible and nowhere was better than God's house."-RM. With that foundation, their relationship grew to the point where Ronald knew he wanted to marry Ruth. Now on to the engagement. "So I knew something was up but did not expect it to happen on that specific day. We had "dinner" plans. But when I arrived Ronald surprised me at my car. He seemed a little nervous but nothing really out of the ordinary. He wanted to show me the rooftop while we waited for our friends. AND as soon as he opened the door to the roof, he had a whole setup! It was beautiful! Just the way I imagined it would be! And of course I said YES!!!💕"-RC. " So....yes I was very nervous. I had the ring burning a whole in my pocket and the roof setup but I didn't know if everything would go well. I had the help of her friends, her mom and my friends and family but still I was nervous. When I saw her, she was just as beautiful as always if not more. I said a silent prayer, took her to the roof and thankfully she said yes!!"-RM. Now it's time for the next part of their journey. "And we are elated to have you be part of our special day!"-R&R❤️❤️
