We're Getting Married!

Makinde and Ruth met on instagram back in 2019 after Makinde's younger sister Michelle posted him on her instagram story for his birthday giving him a Happy Birthday shout out. Ruth came across Michelle's instagram story of Makinde and decided to reply to it asking if her brother was single and Michelle said "he sure is girl, shoot your shot" (Thank you Michelle, we love you lol). Ruth decided to send Makinde a friend request on instagram but was reluctant to message him. When Makinde accepted the friend request the two began to like photos that were posted on the other's instagram profile. However, conversation between the two did not begin until days later when Makinde posted a photo on his instagram story of Jamaican food and Ruth being the foodie she is, messaged him asking which restaurant the food was from. Makinde responded to the message and there started a week long conversation about any and everything via instagram dm's. Makinde eventually asked Ruth if they can exchange numbers, it was obvious that they had an instant connection. The two quickly became great friends who spent hours talking on the phone, FaceTiming and texting throughout the day. For months the two were just platonic friends who enjoyed conversing with one another and shared a liking for Jamaican food. In February 2020 after months of being friends the two realized that they were starting to have feelings for one another and decided to go from platonic friends to dating and "collecting substantial data" lol to see if they were truly a good fit for one another. Fast forward to July 2020, Makinde asked Ruth if she would like to be his girlfriend and Ruth said yes. The two dated for 3 years until finally Makinde popped the question on Ruth's Birthday in September of 2023 and their journey to forever began!
