Flight
While JFK, LGA, and EWR are all within an hour's drive of Brooklyn, we recommend travel in and out of LaGuardia as it is fully renovated and a quick 20-minute car ride to Greenpoint. Both Uber and Lyft are available at all area airports. Yellowcab taxis are a great option if ride share wait times are long. Be sure to follow airport signs for the official Yellowcab stand. Do not accept rides from people approaching you claiming to be a taxi and offering a ride. Official NYC taxis will only be dispatched from Yellowcab stands.
Train
If you're staying in Manhattan, Queens, or south Brooklyn, and you're interested in living like a local, all our venues are conveniently located within short walking distance of subway stations. We recommend the Citymapper app for step-by-step MTA route instructions. All MTA subway stations and buses accept tap-to-pay, so no need to purchase an Omni card. Rule of Thirds is located within a 5-minute walk of the Nassau Ave stop on the G (light green) line. The G connects to with the 7, E, F, L, N, R, and W lines for access to Manhattan. The McCarren Park House is a 4-minute walk from the Nassau Ave G train station and a 9-minute walk from the Bedford Ave L train station.
Travel Note
While Airbnb is not outright illegal in NYC, it is heavily restricted. For any stay under 30 days, a maximum of two guests are allowed, and the host must be present for the stay. Because of these restrictions, listings are extremely limited. Therefore, we recommend any of the great hotels in the neighborhood or in Manhattan if you wish to make this a true New York City visit!
