How it Started

coworkers to dating

Paige was shift supervisor at Starbucks when I first started working there. When I started, we were just a shift and a barista, only talking so she could tell me what I needed to do and when. Over time, and the fact that I never shut up, Paige and I started to really bond in friendship. She started coming over to my apartment to watch movies and I would come over to her house to do the same. Through these times, and many late night chats, we started to realize that we might have feelings for the other. It wasn't until Paige took a week long trip to Georgia, filled with several texts and phone calls with each other, that we discussed even the probability of there being something more than friends between us. When she returned from her trip and after a late night conversation, we solidified the relationship and Paige and I started dating.

The Proposal!

September 29th, 2020

I was nervous for around a month beforehand. I had been making payments for several months on the ring because I knew that Paige was the woman that the Lord had made for me. When I told Paige I wanted her to meet the Arnold's in Texas, I had already made it up in my heart that I was going to pop the question there. I couldn't let her know that, of course, so I convinced her that the ring wasn't going to be shipped and arrive at my apartment until when we were in Texas. She believed me and I went to Texas with the ring in my backpack, knowing that when I popped the question, she would be totally surprised and it would be a genuine and fun reaction to watch unfold while down on one knee. So on Tuesday, September 29th, I had Lindsay take Paige and I to the Fort Worth Water Gardens (if you haven't been, you should totally look it up) so that we could walk around and explore the area. And as the time to get down on one knee got closer and closer, I was getting a little bit more nervous. But, when we climbed "The Mountain," and I saw Lindsay begin to record, I knew that it was now or never. I got down on one knee, saying that I was just adjusting my backpack, when Paige said she wanted to put her wallet into it. I took the opportunity and told her I would do so, in order to not look suspicious as I reached into my backpack to pull out the ring. I asked her, "You know I love you, right?" And she said, "Yes, I love you too." "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you?" And Paige immediately knew and was very surprised when I pulled out the box and on bended knee asked her to marry me. She said yes, which leads us here.
