Bend is an unincorporated community in Lampasas and San Saba counties in western Central Texas. Its population was 1,678 as of the 2010 census. It is 26 miles from Lampasas and 21 miles from San Saba. It is home to several camping grounds with amazing views of bluffs and canyons that have been carved out by the Colorado River. It is also know for the Colorado Bend State Park. This park has trails to hike, fishing, camping and wildlife.
Probably not….BUT that is one of the reasons we love this location. It’s peaceful and allows everyone to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery! Some people get lucky and will have service and you can always go to the top of the canyon and you will get service.
Yes! They have spots with electricity for campers, there are shelter spots which have awnings with tables under them and they have tent sites. It is suggested to reserve a spot sooner than later because they tend to fill up fast!
No, the roads are well maintained and any vehicle is safe to drive out there.
The ceremony will be outdoors and there is very little shade. You are welcome to bring an umbrella if you want. We will have a place to sit in the shade after the ceremony and the lodge will be open and air conditioned for the reception. We will also have some ports coolers running during the ceremony to help fight the heat.
