The Wedding Website of Joy Russell and Christian Valencia
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding is cocktail attire. Keep in mind the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be partially covered. Check the weather to dress comfortably. Also, you will walk through grass in some areas so be careful when choosing your shoes.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive before 4:45pm as the ceremony will begin at 5pm. Give yourself plenty of time to park and find your seat, as there is a short walk down stairs to get to the ceremony from the parking lot. Due to the layout of the venue, guests who arrive late will not be able to enter the ceremony.

Question

What about altitude sickness?

Answer

If you’re traveling from Florida to our wedding in Colorado, it’s important to be aware of altitude sickness, which can affect anyone who ascends quickly from sea level to higher elevations. Colorado’s mountains sit thousands of feet above sea level, and the thinner air contains less oxygen, which can cause symptoms like headaches, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, and trouble sleeping. These symptoms usually appear within the first 24–48 hours of arrival. To help your body adjust, we recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol for the first day, and taking it easy with physical activity when you first arrive. If symptoms persist or become severe, please seek medical attention. We want you to feel your best while celebrating with us!
