On her way to volleyball practice, Heather stumbled upon a plate of fried zucchini on the floor outside someone's dorm room with a note. Amused, she took a picture and went along with her evening. Following the practice and walk home, she saw Taylor outside that very dorm room asking passersby if they had any information about the mysterious food. Heather mentioned she had seen it earlier and taken a picture. Who actually left the zucchini? The world may never know.
After seeing each other around campus and getting food a few times together, Heather asked Taylor for help replacing the wheels on her longboard. Ever the gentleman, he obliged and what should have been a quick fix, turned into a night of Kevin Hart specials and laughter.
In celebration of their 4th anniversary, Taylor and Heather decided to adopt a cat - Mr. Mau! His status as a harder to adopt kitty pulled at their heartstrings. They did a visit with him on their anniversary prior to going out for a date night dinner, and he was as social, affectionate, and sweet as described. After thinking on it, the two adopted him the following day.
Nearly 7 years after their first meeting, Taylor and Heather take a trip to visit Taylor's sister and brother-in-law, Aubrey & Brian, in California alongside Taylor and Aubrey's brother, Connor. On their second day, the group took a hike to Switzer Falls - a beautiful hiking trail ending in a stunning waterfall. Upon arriving at the waterfall and enjoying the relaxing (freezing) waters, Taylor asked Heather to take another picture. While balancing on rocks, Taylor got down on one knee and said, "It's about damn time. Will you marry me?" And of course Heather said yes!
About 3 years after adopting Mr. Mau and in the midst of wedding planning, we wondered if he would like a friend. Someone to keep him company while we're gone and run around with. The rescue we adopted Mau from posted about a kitten that was now available for adoption after overcoming some health issues. We went to meet her and she was the tiniest, softest cutie ever. We took her home the same day! After giving her some time to acclimate, we introduced the 2 and they've been chasing each other (and stealing each others' food) ever since!
