The true first time we met was way back in the 6th grade. We had the same language arts and science class. While I was new to the school, Drew was the cool athlete with all the friends and I came to school with corn rows after vacation and got them redone for months after. Drew claims he thought I was "cute" and I just laugh, we ran in such different circles. Fast forward 5 years because we really never talked again unless it was forced by a teacher. He went to Bellarmine, and I went to Stadium, we were bound to have mutual friends. We were lucky enough to reconnect not at the super bowl (sorry families) but the night before at a good ol' high school party. From that night on we were inseparable. He even ditched his friends to watch the super bowl the next day with me and my friends. Did I mention this was the 2013 season super bowl where the Seahawks WON?!?! Two weeks later in high school fashion he asked me to be his girlfriend on valentine's day in 2014 (lol). The rest is history.
I asked Liv to marry me in Central Park in December of 2022. We had a trip planned around Christmas time, which is her favorite time of the year. The trip was meant for some shows, good food and to be around all of the wonderful Christmas lights that New York has to offer. Little did she know that there was a little surprise I had planned. Before the trip I connected with a local photographer so we could capture the moment and decided on a location. This was Livs first time in New York and my second, having been before I remember how beautiful Central Park was and believed this to be the place to propose. Weeks roll by and we are here in NYC. I'm sure Liv could tell, but on that day I was very nervous and not acting like myself. I like to say it was because Argentina was in the World Cup final that day and the game was to close for comfort. Later that day after seeing the Radio City Rockettes it was time to propose. We took a short walk over to Central Park, but there was one small problem, the spot the photographer and I picked out was occupied so we had to act fast. I was constantly checking my phone for a response from the photographer when we were pulling up to Central Park. We decided on a spot close to one of the entrances with both surrounding park and city views. I got down on one knee and somehow was able to get words to come out, not knowing exactly what they were. SHE SAID YES!!! We were congratulated by surrounding people with applause and cheers. The next few days we spent exploring and checking off Elf's Christmas to do list.
