Our Story

October 11, 2014, on the campus of Grambling State University, is where this amazing experience began. It was a cloudy and cold day but it was perfect for college football! That school year, Russell was a member of SGA so as the Royal Court is walking into the game he was the first person I see and my crush started at that very second. We both made eye contact but I was unsure about approaching him. I talked myself into it and we met soon after the game was over and exchanged contact information. Due to him being an SGA member he wasn’t able to hang with me for too long but he did take the time to sit with me, get to know me a little better, and even showed me around the campus. Less than three weeks after the game, communication between us two did not go as expected. For the next 3 years, there were No Happy Birthday texts, Congratulatory messages or anything was sent. I had buried it and convinced myself that we would never see each other again. I was sure that he met someone and was happy elsewhere. In May of 2017 I relocated to Atlanta, GA after graduating from Alcorn State University, excited for a new city, new people, new career, and new friendships. One random day in June I get a notification on my phone that someone had sent me a message, I didn’t recognize the name at first so I unlocked my phone, went to the profile and low and behold it was Russell. He asked how I was doing and what was new with me? I told him I was doing well and I was in Atlanta. Shortly after he then told me that he just relocated to Atlanta from Little Rock, AR. He then asked me out on a date, I instantly said yes. I mean even if it didn’t go well I would still get a free meal right? We went to McCormick & Schmicks Steak & Seafood in Downtown ATL. That night we enjoyed good drinks and even better food. The conversation flowed naturally and the chemistry was at an all-time high. June 15, 2017, we made it official and our relationship started there and will continue on forevermore.
