The Gulf is a personal favorite of the bride and groom! A unique and family-friendly restaurant, shoes are not a necessity! The restaurant is an outside grill serving fresh local ingredients. You can get anything from your fish fix to personalized tacos and much more! Between the ultra-cool, funky seating and decor, and the sand between your toes with the seaside breeze, there's no way you couldn't enjoy The Gulf and its awesome atmosphere!
Lulu's is a FUN restaurant! This restaurant was established and still owned by Lucy Buffet, Jimmy Buffet's sister! Lulu's has it all: live music nightly, beach volleyball, an extensive allergy menu, gift shop, fresh local seafood and produce and seating overlooking the water. You'll want to go early and beat the crowd!
The Hangout is a fun and friendly place to kick back and relax with live music and cool drinks! Every day they host games and contests for the whole family to enjoy. Kids love playing in the sandpit or joining in on games of ping-pong, foosball, four square, and other activities outside in the courtyard. Entire families can be a part of their foam parties, sit by an outside a fire pit, shop in the outdoor T-shirt shop, or take photos in the giant beach chairs. Plus, there's direct access to the beach right from the restaurant. The Hangout is a casual bar and grill with something for everyone to enjoy!
Scoops is not only the cutest ice cream shop around but also the best! There is almost always a line but it moves fast and is worth it! After a day at the beach or touring, Scoops has an awesome selection of ice creams, malts, shakes, and extras. Don't pass up Scoops!
We must recommend the beach, of course!!! The thing the bride and groom have always loved so much about the Gulf Shores beaches is the clean, family-friendly environment. The beaches are in excellent condition, and the sand is a soft, beautiful white. The rolling dunes that surround most of it make it perfect for great photos.
The Gulf Shores State Park is a serene long-stretching section of land that crosses through woodland areas, pond and wetland areas, and to the beach with a beautiful pier to top it off. If you're looking for a hiking, biking, fishing, and walking area away from the bustle of tourism this is the place to go. Sunrises and sunsets are just heavenly peering through the peaceful landscape of the Gulf Shores State Park.
We encourage you to take a tour with any of the dolphin boat tour companies. The bride and groom have been on several dolphin tours and have never been disappointed. It's so exciting to see these beautiful creatures and feel the ocean wind on your face as you travel through the waves! These tours can also be an excellent time for the whole family since most offer unique learning experiences for everyone!
Many of the traditions we shared growing up were not only vacationing at Gulf Shores with our families but also making a trip to the "Shark Shop" a necessity! To this day, Souvenir City "Shark Shop" is still the bride and groom's favorite little gift shop/tourist trap! Souvenir City is probably the most popular gift shop not only for the famed shark mouth you have to walk through but also the tons and tons of memorabilia, knick-knacks, hermit crabs, seashells, and beach decor! Make this a definite stop during your stay in Gulf Shores!
