WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

Hannah’s side of the story: Russell showed up as a guest at my parents’ house, through a mutual church friend, (like many other guests.) Except he was cuter and had sisters who became my best friends! When his sisters wanted to come over, Russell was the chauffeur. When all the girls wanted to go out, he was our bodyguard. For as long as I can remember, he’s been watching out for me. I was about 15 when I realized that my heart kept skipping beats whenever I ran into him unexpectedly and at last it occurred to me that I really wouldn’t mind if he stuck around forever! But... Russell has always been shy and quiet, and while I’m never quiet, I was shy around him too. SO, although he would come over almost every Sunday to take care of our landscaping and trees and anything we needed, it STILL took a whole 7 years for me to finally realize that he may have had ulterior motives! When I was 20, Russell asked to court me, and after almost 5 years of prayer, study and perseverance, on a mountain in the Wild West, he asked me to be his wife. I feel blessed beyond measure that I get to marry my peacemaker, wise counselor, handyman and best friend! Russell’s side of the story: She was cute. The end. :) Naw, I remember when I first walked through the door into Hannah’s life. She was just getting home from gymnastics and I could tell instantly that she was cheerful and full of energy. But as she said- she was pretty young, and so I fell into the role of older brother for a while. But as Hannah grew from a wild and goofy kid into a lovely and capable young woman with a heart for righteousness, I found myself hoping that our relationship would shift from brother to friend to teammate. BUT! I didn’t think I stood a chance with her, so I kept my feelings pretty hidden. At 23, I knew she was the one, but I had to wait 2 whole months to see her. Little did I know then just how much waiting Yahweh had in store for us! But I’m so glad we waited on Him & I’m so glad She said yes!
