Sarah & Russell's Story
The Story of Sarah & Russell
Sarah and Russell met in January 2019. Russell was a P.E. teacher and after-school program coordinator, while Sarah was a Denny's server and full-time student at Idaho State University. They quickly fell in love and have spent nearly every day by each other's side since.
In 2020, they were lucky enough to quarantine together, in the basement of Sarah's mom's house. In the thick of it, they developed a daily routine of driving to Sonic and getting pretzels and sodas (a snack they'll never grow tired of). During these years, they heightened their shared interest in all things food and adventure.
Sarah and Russell have hiked and biked thousands of miles together and look forward to many more weekend getaways and adventures! Some of their favorite memories include getting caught in a flash flood storm while biking in Zion National Park, hiking the entire rim of the Grand Canyon, and hiking 14 miles to reach the peak of Scout Mountain!
Grand Canyon 2022!
We hiked the entire rim of the canyon and discovered the importance of quality hiking socks! We refueled ourselves with Sarah's delicious, creamy dill salmon cooked over the campfire!
First year of dating!
Our favorite memories include our first date (Stockman's Steak House, Aquarium, Hot CoCo) and a 5-night vacation to Las Vegas with our friend Kylie!
We are both proud Idaho State University Alumni and now work at ISU! We love the Bengal Community!
We don't mess around when it comes to food. One of our favorite things to do is go on weekend getaways and try new restaurants, food trucks, and hidden gems!
Russell's Uncle Ray gifted Sarah & Russell two Mountain Bikes. He didn't know it at the time, but that gift carried Sarah through her master's thesis defense giving her something to look forward to!
Camping is a favorite pastime of ours! We love camping in national parks, and we once spent two weeks tent-camping at five different national parks!
We returned to Vegas in 2024 to celebrate Russell's graduation! We indulged in steak dinners, wacky attractions, and 2 famous buffets!
Sarah’s eldest niece was born 2 weeks after we started dating. We LOVE being Aunt Sarah & Uncle Russell to our now three nieces!!
Some of our first few dates were at The Grape Van Gogh painting studio in Pocatello. Grabbing dinner at Thai Paradise before was a must!
We are always looking for new trails and challenges to explore the outdoors!
