No, it's about 2 miles away off of La Brea. Easiest way to get there is to take a Lyft. For a discount on your first Lyft ride if you have never used it before try using code: STEPHANIE. Lyft is the preferred ride share app in LA and you should be able to get a ride within 1 min of requesting a pick up. Lyft's do not have car seats in Los Angeles so please bring a carseat or travel system with you if you need one.
Yes... The Hotel is only 2.5 blocks from the Venue. If you wish to wear heels bring a pair of comfy shoes to walk in or take a Lyft!
The wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors (weather permitting). The requested attire is quirky or whimsical formal or cocktail. Have fun and be snazzy with your outfit! The ground at the venue is cobblestone, that being said the cracks aren't super deep you should be fine in a sturdy heel but perhaps leave those super spiky heels in your closet this time.
It means wear a suit and tie or a fancy dress (long or short) It means have fun with your outfit - don't be afraid of bold colors and patterns!
We have over 100 parking spots in a gated lot as part of the studio and no worries if you have a little too much bubbly or beer - be safe and take a Lyft home the Jim Henson folks have said you can pick up your car the next day if you need to! We want to see you again after the wedding so please be safe - we love you!
If your invitation didn't specifically invite your significant other that means we did not account for them. Please be respectful of that as we don't have much wiggle room at all with the venue or seating. We wish we could invite everyone but there were lots of friends that we couldn't fit in - that also being said let us know well in advance if you cannot make it even if you RSVP'd yes so that we can invite someone that can because it was really hard to fit everyone in.
You may see some familiar faces at the Wedding Venue - however, the Jim Henson Studios sold the Muppets to Disney several years ago. But you will get some cool photo ops so feel free to take as many pictures as you want! Hashtag #TeamUs2018
Jim Henson Studios was originally built in 1916 as Charlie Chaplin's studios. The soundstage is used for many Jim Henson Productions as well as is rented out to other productions and same with the recording studio. All puppets are fabricated in Burbank (about 10 miles away) at the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The Company is still owned and run by Jim's children Lisa and Brian.
We are so glad you asked - most of the vendors for our ceremony and reception are friends of ours - which is so special since we love that almost everyone involved in our special day is special to us. Everyone from the photographer to the DJ, the musicians, the bartender and the Rabbi, the Photo Booth and even our day of coordinator they are all friends and we love them so much!!! So, if you like what they are doing --- show them some love! Also, give them a follow on Social Media or leave them a review on Facebook, Google, or Yelp!

Blackhaven has been playing events with The Show That Shall Not Be Named (the improv team Russ and Stephanie are on) for several years. The lead singer and Stephanie have been friends for over a decade.
DJ Jimmy G is the owner of No1Betta Entertainment and Stephanie used to dj and host karaoke for his company for years. He’s like family! He hosts and dj’s events for celebrities regularly and it was such a treat that he was able to DJ the evening.
The Kneady Bakery provided the desserts for the evening and the decor on top - the Nerdy team of a Ashley & Kati have been working on projects with Stephanie for several years and really make every event so delicious and fun - the Goobs were so happy to include them. The cake was from Sweet Lady Jane.
Sue Gisser was Stephanie’s Prenatal Water Yoga Instructor (how Los Angeles can you get in one sentence?). Beyond that Sue is friends with Russ and Stephanie and is an amazing actress and improviser and we were thrilled she volunteered to sling bottles and whip up the cocktails for the night.
Stephanie created the signature cocktails just based on her and Russ’ preferences when it comes to drinks the Felix Felicis (luck potion) was Jim Beam Bourbon with ginger beer and a splash of lime and represents all the things Stephanie loves in a cocktail. The Wolfsbane (werewolf defense potion) was Stoli Vodka with fresh grapefruit juice and a splash of Perrier and was all Russ. The non alcoholic butterbeer was clearly a must have at any event the couple throws.
We had no planner - we did the planning ourselves but had an amazing day of coordinator that helped a lot!!!! Melanie Wahla Ruth of gingersnap florals is a flower designer and day of coordinator and has been friends with Stephanie for years. She was the reason everything was so smooth! She was priceless!
Ok so the bouquets and boutonnières were all made by the bridesmaids. Really! The flower crowns and decorations on the cake etc were made by Gingersnap Florals.
Stonefire Grill did a great job on dinner and has restaurant locations throughout Southern California.
Probably - maybe - we will see...
We would have to charge a huge cover charge - but we do produce fandom themed events and comedy shows regularly so you should come to them all!
Justin Baker is a good friend and improv teammate of Russ and Stephanie and is the genius behind the photo booth his company, Photo Baker put up an album of all the photos on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1953002421385918.1073741940.446519642034211&type=3

Stephanie and her best friend and maid of honor, Camille have been collaborating for years now on projects and custom made dresses. Stephanie comes up with a basic concept and design for what she wants and Camille translates and fabricates the pieces and knocks it out of the park every single time. The polka dot meets Harry Potter wedding dress was a labor of love that Camille put so much detailed work into, its really a one of a kind gown created with love. The 2 piece bridesmaids dresses were equally crafted with attention to detail to provide comfort and wearability for years to come. Each piece was handmade by Camille to each ladies’ measurements. Camille’s design company Franklin Frocks takes custom orders for cosplay and fashion pieces and in 2016 Camille won the Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic Con and her prize was designing a line of Wonder Woman themed fashion pieces that are still available today at Hot Topic stores and online worldwide.
Ashley Troub was responsible for the makeup. Hair was done by Dry Bar in West Hollywood.
