Question

Arriving Day of!!!

Answer

To arrive at our venue, you can put 1108 Banner Rd Julian, CA or Camp Stevens into your gps. Sometimes the gps will drop you at the wrong spot, about a quarter mile before the driveway. If this happens, continue driving past the big turnout and the entrance to the driveway will be in the left. You will see the sign for Camp Stevens at the base of the driveway. Turn onto the driveway and continue up to the main parking lot. Room assignments will be posted in the office on your arrival. You don’t need to check-in, just check your room assignment and continue to your lodge and room. There are maps in the office as well as signs on the road leading to the lodges to help you find your way. Katherine Earls (Emkat’s mom) will be coordinating between our guests and the Camp Stevens staff if there’s anything you need. Her number will be on the housing assignment sheet, please note it.

Question

Where to stay?

Answer

We will be hosting all invited wedding guests at Camp Stevens in Julian, California from Friday April 3rd after 3pm until Sunday April 5th at noon. Lodging is provided Friday and Saturday nights. Check out https://campstevens.org/visit-us/#visitus_facilities for some information about and images of the lodging. Available lodges for all guests will be Woltersdorf, Lax-Sadler, and Blum. The wedding party will be staying in Bergstrom. We will be providing linens for all the rooms but please note that all available lodging has bunk-style beds and rooms with some private and some shared bathrooms. Julian is a locally famous town and gets a lot of visitors so there is also a good amount of housing in town via hotels or airbnbs that have nicer accommodations if what we can offer for you on-site does not meet you or your family’s needs. We will be doing the room assignments based on the information we get from the RSVPs so please put any pertinent housing needs there.

Question

How to get there?

Answer

Transportation to and from Julian can be tricky as there is neither public transportation nor ride-share services out in the east side of San Diego county which is made up of mostly rural communities. For our guests flying in we recommend renting a car or teaming up with others who are attending the wedding and have a transportation plan. We hav a discord server for our guests to communicate(link in your invite) to both offer and receive help with getting up into the mountains from San Diego. It is possible to get a ride-share up to Julian via Lyft or Uber but it is not possible to get one back to San Diego. We will continue to explore transportation ideas and options in the next month as needed.

Question

Food?

Answer

Camp Stevens will be providing meals for the weekend as well. Friday dinner will be at 6pm, Saturday breakfast at 9am, Saturday lunch on your own(there are many good options to explore around town), Saturday reception dinner at 5pm, and Sunday breakfast at 9am. All meals will be vegan. Please put any food allergies or other important dietary information in the rsvp so the Camp Stevens kitchen can prepare accordingly.
