We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Rachel and Joe met at St. Joseph's College in the fall of 2013. They became close friends through social gatherings, and even attended a few Greek Life formals together. Their lives took different directions when she went to study abroad in Italy, and he continued his studies in New York. But distance didn't deter them, and they soon found themselves talking every day. When she returned, they met for a beer (and Rachel doesn't even like beer!) at Meehan's of Huntington to see if the chemistry was still there - it certainly was! Not long after their first 'official' date at the Riverhead Aquarium, Joe asked Rachel to be his girlfriend on the Northport Village docks in October 2016. The next few years were filled with college graduations, new careers, a move to Manhattan, a (short) breakup, and the onset of Covid. Throughout it all, they realized they were meant to be together. They celebrated 5 years dating this past October, and a few weeks later Joe got down on one knee and asked Rachel to marry him in front of the Huntington Village Christmas tree. With a joyous "yes", they were engaged on December 23rd, 2021. October has always been a special time for them, from the beginnings of their friendship to their romantic relationship. Now October is also when they'll say "I do", and begin the rest of their lives together alongside all the wonderful people who have loved and supported them along the way.
