Our Story

Our whirlwind of a love story begins where two 30 year old women often turn to in hopes of the potential for magic, love and romance…..Tinder! That’s right, after trying to navigate the dating world and both feeling very “let’s just see what’s out there”, our swiping journeys began. Little did we know, we were one right swipe away from the rest of our lives. As fate would have it, we matched on a Sunday evening after the turmoil of the ever disappointing left swipes. Sierra was the brave one, messaged me first and complimented my smile. What’s a girl to do, how could I pass up an opportunity to get to know such a beautiful woman? That night we spent five hours messaging back and forth, getting to know one another. Thankfully, Sierra was down to business and took the reins on asking all the hard questions. Me, being the therapist that I am, inquired about love language and her childhood. At the end of the night I asked Sierra if I could message her the following day and luckily she said yes. I woke up the next day, excited to tell her good morning and continue more conversation. The six hours we spent talking that night felt like five minutes as we had already felt like we had known each other our whole lives. As the conversations grew deeper, we took the next serious step in our digital age….FaceTime. Two days later, we met each other over FaceTime for the first time and there we were, laughing, talking, already growing together. (Not to mention we both thought one another were gorgeous). We discussed how wild it was that we felt like we missed each other when we hadn’t even met yet. How was it possible to feel so big for someone you’ve never even held before? Fast forward to four days later, our first date. We decided on a local brewery, then a nap and a drag show later in the evening to bring the night to a close.

Continued….

We woke up that day full of anticipation and excitement. What should she do with her hair? What flannel should I wear? Finally, after the morning hours felt like days, I heard a knock, took a deep breath, said a quick prayer and opened the door. We greeted each other with smiles, she set her bags down (yes she stayed the night, this is where the "Uhauling" began) and we finally embraced. That embrace. That’s the embrace you wait your whole life for. In that moment, we knew we were home. After chatting for a bit, we went to the brewery, came home, took a nap and shared a beautiful evening at Trexx tipping drag kings and singing some of our now favorite songs. Everything was perfect. We both felt we were finally where we were supposed to be. We woke up the next morning and had pillow talk about our feelings for each other and in Sierra’s words, it feels like we’ve always had a piece of each other in our hearts and didn’t know it until we met. We’re each other’s missing piece and we fit together so perfectly. We knew we were in love and that we had found forever. Twenty four hours later, I ventured out to her apartment and we acknowledged how crazy it all sounded but how incredibly deep and genuine our feelings already were for each other. She asked me to be her girlfriend and since then we’ve not spent one night apart. We wouldn’t want it any other way. When we met, we knew immediately that our souls had loved for lifetimes and finally get to be forever entangled while we dance to the music of our heartbeats for the rest of our lives. Seven and a half weeks later, I dropped to one knee in our apartment and asked Sierra if she would marry me. Three days later, she surprised me when I came home from work and asked if I would marry her. With both our eyes full of tears of absolute joy, we promised each other forever. Prior to knowing each other we were skeptics of a love so fast and furious, but to live the love we have feels like an undeniable miracle.

Lastly….

We are elated to share our special day with everyone who loves and supports us and can’t wait to raise our future family surrounded by the love of our family and friends.
