An absolute must if you are in Austin. Brittany's recommends "The Independent" on a corn tortilla and Adam recommends a "Brushfire" on a flour tortilla. And you 100% need the queso. Don't skip the queso.
Brittany loves swimming in the Barton Springs Pool. It's nice and cool all year round and is an Austin favorite.
One of our favorite spots to grab a drink. Best Old Fashioneds in town! The rest of Rainey Street is a lot of fun too. Check out a few different spots!
There is a swanky rooftop pool bar at the W in downtown Austin. You have to go to the lobby desk to ask for a key to use the elevator to get up there which makes it a little bit more inaccessible, and thus less crowded than you'd think.
If you're into history or politics or cool buildings, take a trip to the capitol building downtown. The grounds are beautiful and touring the inside is a lot of fun too!
The LBJ Library is rich with information on JFK/LBJ and they usually have a cool expo going on too!
If you venture into downtown Austin, you'll see there are lots of people enjoying the lake. You can grab a standup padde board, kayak, or canoe and check out the city from a different point of view!
Best view in town!
Delicious Mexican food on the lake!
Delicious food/drink with a breathtaking view of the lake.
South Congress Ave. has so many fun, eclectic shops to check out. Spend a couple of hours wandering around and seeing a bit of Austin's weirdness.
6th Street is where nightlife gets real crazy. If you're into partying, you won't want to miss 6th Street around midnight.
Super cool graffiti art outdoors!
Delicious coffee and baked goods with a sweet view of the lake!
This is some of the best ramen we've ever had. There is usually a very long line to get in. If you go for lunch, get there for 11AM and there shouldn't be a line. We've also had luck going at off times like 3PM on a Sunday. It's worth the wait if you do stand in line, though. =)
