We met on a Facebook group for young widows. We connected over, of all things, a picture Kaitlyn posted of her holding a cute goat. We chatted back and forth for a few weeks before we finally decided it was time to meet! We met a few times half way between our homes since we lived 3 hours apart. Once we spent time together, we knew there was a connection that was undeniable. Josh and I traveled back and forth for almost a year before him and Adrianna moved down to Lancaster County. The rest is history!

Josh and the kids planned a trip to the beach to make it all happen. Kaitlyn is an ocean girl and the beach is her favorite place! We got to one of our favorite restaurants on the water and the wait was going to be forever, but we put our name on the list and waited. Averie snuck away and talked to the hostess and said that Josh wanted to propose at sunset and asked if there's any way they can get us seated sooner. Sure enough, her plan worked! As the sun started to set, we went to the dock to take pictures! Kaitlyn was taking pictures of a mom with her daughters and when she turned around, Josh was on one knee! Of course she said yes and the whole restaurant erupted with cheers! It was all absolutely perfect!
