I figured it was coming at some point, I just didn't know when. Because we live in different states, I had no clue of knowing when or if Noah would come to Birmingham. I went to go get cookies with my friend, Gracie, and when we were about to walk in, Noah walked out! I was completely speechless! Part of me thought he would drop down on one knee in front of Cookie Fix! We went on a walk, then he asked if I wanted to go on a fancy date. While I got ready, Noah bought me flowers and came back to pick me up. We went to a fancy Italian restaurant, like our first date, and I thought he would propose there. It was a very nice dinner. After dinner, he said he had another surprise for me. We drove to a place that overlooks the city of Birmingham (the Vulcan) and I was so focused on the bats flying in the sky that I didn't notice the table set up in the grass. When I finally saw the table, I knew it was happening. I sat down in the chair by the table. Noah picked up his Bible off the table and started reading from Ephesians 5, but couldn't finish because he started crying. He then washed my feet, and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES! It was the most magical proposal. Afterwards, he said he couldnt keep any more secrets from me and told me about the engagement party waiting for us. We drove to the Reynold’s and I was shocked seeing all these people so dear to my heart in the same place.
4:30am Zach took me to the airport. 6:00am My flight left CSTAT. 8:00am My flight to BHAM was delayed. 10:40am Reynolds picked me up in BHM. 2:15pm I met Courtney to give her my Bible, sketch book, towel and ring to set up. 2:35pm The longest wait of my life, every minute had 1,000 seconds. Gracie and T walked up and just as they were at the door I opened it and walked out of Cookie Fix. The look on T’s face was one of disbelief, confusion, and surprise. For the next 5 minutes all she could do was look at me and say “Hi…” 5:30pm As Taylor got ready for our fancy date, I drove to Walmart and bought her lilies. I told her I would pick her up at 5:45 she wondered why. My response was, “I have a plan, do you think I would come to see you and not have a plan?” 6:30pm We went to a fancy Italian restaurant. I wasn’t nervous about the proposal I was just excited for it to happen. Our waiter eventually brought us our check and a complimentary crème brule. 8:00pm I could see on my phone that we would arrive at 8:11. I was counting down the minutes until we would be engaged. T noticed bats flying around in the street lamps, she didn’t notice the table where everything was set up; the first thing I saw. I stepped into the grass and she then realized what was about to happen. I tried to read from Ephesians 5 but choked up. I said I couldn’t finish and washed her feet. I reached behind one of the picture frames, and brought out the wooden ring box I had made. I asked her to marry me. SHE SAID YES! I put the ring on her finger. At that point Amelia and Courtney jumped out from behind a tree and started taking pictures. T was excited. I told her we were going to go to the Reynolds’ house for a party. I was tired of not telling her what was happening. She had enough surprises for one day. 9:30pm We walked in to the Reynolds kitchen and her friends were all there. She was so happy to see them all and show off the ring.
