Simply put, we met at church in 2017. That is our foundation. He'd tell you that our story began when I DM'ed him, and the truth is... I did DM him, but not for reasons he'd describe. I just wanted to go Salsa dancing 🤷🏾‍♀️ I eventually canceled on him, but feeling bad, I promised to make it up to him. I expected him to choose another summer festival, but he invited me to dinner instead. We exchanged phone numbers that night but continued our conversations via Instagram DM. A month later, he made it official. And to God's glory, we're here 5 years after, taking the next steps toward our forever. It is true what they say, when you know, you know.

She DM'ed me. Okay, that's not entirely true. Here is the story. We met at church. We knew each other as we were both part of the young adult production team in church. We were acquaintances and would say hello to one another, nothing beyond that. One day I posted on my Instagram story asking if anyone would want to go to salsa fest with me and she responded "Me!!!!" She canceled on me but offered to make it up to me. Some days later, I asked her to come to dinner with me to make up for the cancellation. We went to dinner and had a great time. That was the beginning of our story. You know the rest because you are celebrating the next step with us.
