Two is better than one

Five days after my birthday! Saturday morning, he cooked breakfast and bought flowers. I was NOT expecting it, if you're asking. I woke up, washed my face, brushed my teeth and walked straight to the breakfast table. We prayed and gave thanks, I didn't even feel him nervous (or maybe I was still half asleep.) We finished eating so he says "there's dessert, close your eyes," and ofcourse me being the fatty I am I start guessing which cheesecake or cake he bought from Kroger, because he always buys the flowers from Kroger. I closed my eyes, didn't even try to open my eyes and be sneaky. It all happened so fast, "open your eyes" he said. So I am cheesing, bare face, huge zit on my forehead, pj's, hair in a bun and he's down on one knee pouring his heart out hands shaking and this worrying face on. I was crying and smiling and taking it all in. No one else there, just me and him and his kind words, (words I will share with my children when they ask how he proposed.) So intimate, I forgot to say yes, so he asked put the ring on and I was like yes babe yes! He asked what was wrong, well I couldn't believe it! I stared at it, I stared at him and thanked god for this moment. I couldn't hold it in, I couldn't wait to tell my sisters so I sent a photo! I video called my mom and we cried again.. my dad? he knew! Jorge had talked to him and shown him the ring, matter of fact my dad was like "he just gave you the ring? he showed it to me last week!" Later that day we went shopping for winter/christmas decorations and used the rest of the day to decorate the house, our new tradition going forward :)
