It all started in the heart of Chicago, at a place where the clang of weights and the buzz of determination filled the air: the Windy City Strength & Conditioning gym. Nicole and Alex were deep in training at the police and fire academy, spending early mornings and long evenings pushing themselves. One day, with a mix of nerves and a bit of humor, Alex decided to break the ice with a playful line about her uniform. It got a laugh, and more importantly, it started a conversation. Not long after that, fate and a slightly stubborn car battery gave us another little push when she helped me jump my car. You could say sparks really did fly literally and figuratively! From that moment on, our relationship grew through shared workouts, Police/Fire stories, and plenty of laughter. We found that we made a pretty great team, whether we were tackling a tough workout or a car that wouldn’t start. And then 3 years later, came the proposal. Alex had planned to propose to Nicole under the stars at the Adler Planetarium, but on that cold, snowy Friday, the universe had other plans, it was closed. So they took a walk in Lincoln Park instead, and under the Honeycomb Arch with the city skyline behind them, Alex got down on one knee and asked a slightly cheesy question. She said yes, and that moment turned a chilly evening into one of the warmest memories of their lives. Now, here we are, ready to start a new chapter together, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next step with all of you.
