We understand attending so many events can be extremely overwhelming especially when it comes to choosing outfits! Indian Wedding: We encourage all guests to partake in the tradition of wearing vibrant and colorful Indian clothing! Here are some boutique and retailer recommendations for both buying and renting: shopkynah.com, perniaspopupshop.com, azafashions.com, allborrow.com, borrowthebazaar.com, glamourental.com. Additionally, you can check out this Pinterest board for visual inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/ruh30/ruhi-camerons-indian-wedding-attire-guidance/ If for some reason you cannot wear Indian clothing, the attire guidelines are formal attire meaning a long dress for women and a suit for men. Western Wedding: Black-Tie. This means tuxedos for men and floor length gowns for women are required. You can check out this Pinterest board for visual inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/ruh30/ruhi-camerons-beach-chic-black-tie-wedding/ More than anything, we want you comfortable and having a fabulous time; nothing is more important to us than having you be a part of our wedding! If you have any questions on attire or need some guidance, feel please feel free to reach out to us at ruhiandcameron@gmail.com.
In order to allow all guests (including parents!) a weekend of relaxation and indulgence, we have chosen for our wedding weekend to be an adult only occasion with the exception of immediate family and bridal party. We have a wonderful, reputable recommendation for child-minders, just reach out to us at ruhiandcameron@gmail.com for more information.
Yes! We have a room block at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, which is where all events will take place. You have the ability to book for 2 or 3 nights, so please select what works best for you. We recommend booking as soon as possible, as the room block will fill up and Santa Barbara is generally a harder place to find last minute accommodations, particularly in the summer. The rate for a single King room is $479 while the rate for a double Queen room is $499.
LOTS OF FOOD! Lots of drinks & dancing! And most importantly, colorful, vibrant outfits! We will provide a detailed schedule of events and their importance as we near the wedding date.
Indian Wedding Day: We kindly ask that you avoid black and white. Western Wedding Day: We kindly ask that you avoid colors typically reserved for the bride such as white, ivory and cream.
A Baraat is the groom's entrance to the wedding. Historically, weddings would take place in the bride's village and the groom's side would arrive as a group, in a parade-like fashion. Traditionally, the groom would enter the bride's village on a horse or elephant, and he'd be accompanied by his family and friends, who are dancing alongside. Loud music and drums would make it known to the bride's family that they had arrived. For our wedding, Cameron will be entering the venue in a similar fashion, surrounding by family, friends, music and dancing. We encourage everyone to take part and enjoy the celebration!
We encourage everyone to indulge safely and avoid driving to our events (we'll make it worth it, we promise!). If you insist on driving, there will be on-site parking at $15 for the day.
Santa Barbara might have the most gorgeous weather in the continental U.S. but you can expect a low of 60 and a high of 77. Please be mindful that we are adjacent to the coast so there will be a continual ocean breeze throughout the day and make the evenings feel slightly chillier. Be prepared for a warmer ceremony followed by cooler temps as the sun begins to set during cocktail hour.
While we both love a good selfie and as enticing as the gorgeous Pacific ocean backdrop can be, we kindly request that you respect our wishes for both our ceremonies to be unplugged (aka no phones!). We have hired a phenomenal photographer and videographer (with a drone!) who will capture the entirety of the ceremony and we'll be sure to share photographs with all guests.
As much as we love the dopamine rush of ripping open wrapping paper, Ruhi's two-seater convertible will likely not be able to accommodate anything bigger than a wedding card. If you wish to honor us with a gift, our registry conveniently allows for delivery to our home address.
Rest assured, Southern California is built for dietary restrictions, allergies or just plain preferences. We will inquire on your preferences via invite during the RSVP period. Our catering team is incredible and will be able to adjust certain meals accordingly.
We kindly ask that all of our guests be vaccinated and up to date on boosters prior to our weekend of events!
If you have very specific questions, you may email us at ruhiandcameron@gmail.com. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we would appreciate you direct all inquiries to our wedding planners, Samantha & Amber at hello@lily-leigh.com.
