Pithi refers to a pre-wedding ritual where a paste made of turmeric (“Haldi” in Hindi) and other ingredients are applied to the bride and groom to cleanse, purify, and bless them. Along with applying paste, guests can feed the bride and groom the provided sweets, throw the provided rice at them and offer blessings. Eating and dancing are to follow. Mehndi (henna) artists will be available for guests wanting to apply mehndi on their hands. Attire: Colorful South Asian attire or a colorful cocktail dress/suit.
