Bride
Known to most as Rue or Ruva ... now adding Mrs Mekuria to the list!
Groom
Known to everyone as Abs - now officially the groom and Rue/Ruva's Husband!
Uncle of the Bride
Aka Sekuru Ingiii! He holds one of the most important roles of the day (after the bride and groom of course). Beyond this special moment of walking the bride down the aisle, he has always been a constant source of love and support. No matter the distance, I know I can count on him - day or night. Having him by my side for this milestone means the world.
Wedding Planner
Nicole has been such a lovely support in helping us curate and plan our wedding - we honestly couldn't have done it without her. On the day, she'll be co-ordinating everything behind the scenes, so if you see her around, don't be shy to say hi! She's also the person to go to if you need any help or have questions on the day.
Bridesmaid
Mufaro has always been my "Little One" - my younger cousin from the USA who feels more like a sister thanks to our Zimbabwean roots. Despite the distance, we've collected memories across countries and years, slipping into the same rhythm every time we reunite. She's the version of me that laughs louder, moves faster, and feels everything deeply. She is my partner in mischief, honesty, and laughter, and having her here means so much
Groomsman
Jack may have come into my life as Ellen's partner, but he quickly became a good friend of mine too. From our unforgettable "Asahi" night out to countless karaoke sessions, he's brought energy, fun, and a lot of laughter to my journey. I'm grateful that our bond has grown and that he's here to celebrate with me.
Bridesmaid
Ellen and I have grown up side by side, technically cousins, but in truth much closer than labels allow. We're complete opposites in personality - which is precisely why we work so well together. She brings a balance, a steadiness, and a joy that has followed me through every stage of life. Having her by my side on this day feels both natural and deeply special.
Bridesmaid
Rachel and I met in Sixth Form, and what began as an easy friendship has matured into one of the most grounded relationships in my life. She has been present for every chapter - the mundane, the chaotic, and the meaningful. There's a calm loyalty about her that I've always appreciated. She's getting married the year after me, and it feels full circle to have her stand with me as I begin this new season.
Groomsman
For over 13 years, Nathan has been one of my closest friends. Chill, relaxed, and always dependable, we've been through so many seasons of life together. From the good times to the challenging times, he's been by my side, and I couldn't ask for a more loyal friend to share this day with.
Groomsman
More than just a cousin, Kaku has always been like a brother to me. A true role model and someone I deeply admire, he's a constant source of inspiration in my life. Plus, as a fellow Arsenal fan, he shares in both the highs and heartbreaks of supporting our team. I'm grateful to have him standing with me.
