We met in 2021 at a youth summer camp. Rudy was too shy to say hello, but Amy welcomed him into a game of cards, and just like that, something special began. What seemed like a small moment turned out to be the start of something much bigger than either of us expected. A few months later, we began working together, and our connection quickly grew. Through our shared passion for serving youth and our community, we got to know each other more deeply. On September 4, 2022, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. That same year, we both started graduate school. Amy attended San Jose State and Rudy attended Sacramento State, which meant long distance. While balancing full time school, work, and internships, we learned how to support each other through a challenging but meaningful season, while still making time to explore San Jose together. In 2024, Rudy proposed to Amy on a beautiful beach in South Lake Tahoe, a moment we will never forget. In true Rudy fashion, he popped the question with the help of a video message from Stephen Curry saying, “Good luck, I hope she says yes.” And she did. It was a perfect day in Lake Tahoe that we will always cherish. Today, we are living together with our beloved kitten, Toasty, and feel incredibly grateful for the life we are building. We are so blessed to be surrounded by loving friends and family, and we are excited for all that is ahead. On September 4, 2026, we will not only be getting married, but also celebrating our four year anniversary, making the day even more meaningful. We look forward to spending that day with our loved ones.
