My mother felt an overwhelming urge to go to Main Fish Market for dinner back in February of 2018. This is a restaurant we have never been to before but she heard good things about the food. We are seated at a table with Geoffrey as our server. He is obviously flirting with me as we are having our meal and trying to impress the parents with his knowledge of the polish language. I admitted to thinking he was attractive and might be interested in getting to know him more to my mother, but was too nervous to initiate the conversation. She took it upon herself to give him my information on our receipt and the rest is history.

November 30 2020 was the date of the going away party at Jimmy's Pub in Enfield, CT for Geoffrey before he departed for Navy boot camp. I had put together the party and ordered a cake and we invited everyone to send him off. Little did I know he noted something I said to him jokingly months before "I want a flash mob proposal and will accept nothing less". I urged him to sing some karaoke and after some technical difficulty (I thought the DJ was just having some trouble with his karaoke program) Geoffrey starts singing "Sussudio" by Phil Collins with my name replacing Sussudio. I was oblivious to what was happening even after the second song "You and I" by Lady Gaga cuts into the first song with more words replaced with facts about me...It wasn't until my best friend Shannon starts doing pirouettes in the middle of the dance floor that I caught on to the scheme. More people joined in and 3 songs of dancing deep Geoffrey comes out in a tux to the song "Marry You" by Bruno Mars. I'm a crying mess and finally he gets on one knee when the most memorable dance performance ends and asks me to marry him. Of course I said YES!
