This iconic, elevated park hovers above 4 city blocks and is home to 600 trees and 16,000 plants. It was also the location of an iconic event: our first date! On October 24, 2022, I skipped the office tour on my first day of work at Orrick to meet Nate for coffee here. I never found out where the office gym was located, but it was worth it and we think stopping by will be worth it for you too. Here's a pic of us there after we were engaged!
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art contains some of the finest contemporary artworks in the country. We saw an exhibit on Diego Rivera here on our third date. At the end of the date, Nate snuck off to get me a cute ceramic bird whistle as a souvenir. He was quite shy when he handed it over--very middle school crush vibes.
Head to the coast to Sutro Baths and take the Lands End Trail. Technically we didn't do the Lands End Trail because the sun proved too powerful for Nate. But bring your sunscreen and check out this beautiful, easy trail with great views of Golden Gate Bridge. We went here on New Years Day 2023. I realized I loved Nate that day but I waited until he said it first a couple days later.
San Francisco is also home to the California Academy of Sciences, the only place on the planet with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum, and a four-story rainforest all under one roof. We went there to celebrate our first Valentine's Day together (peep the matching sweatshirts).
What was once a former military base is now a national park, widely known for its natural beauty, art and culture, and much more. If you're visiting with kids, don't pass on a visit to The Walt Disney Family Museum, which is full of interactive exhibits and Disney artifacts, or the incredible playground and open spaces at The Tunnel Tops. Here’s a picture I took of Nate as we strolled through the Lover’s Lane Trail at the Presidio.
