Steve and Alex met at a mutual friend’s party one summer afternoon. Steve instantly knew he wanted Alex and would spend the next two hours being overly affectionate to Alex’s dog Penny with the hopes of getting her attention. Needless to say they hit it off. The next year would be filled with multiple attempts by Steve to win over Alex, but she was scared if the relationship did not work it would ruin their friendship. So, failed attempt after failed attempt, Steve, being the self respecting man he is then decided to respect Alex’s constant rejections and move on. Shortly there after, Alex miraculously came to her senses and decided that now that Steve moved on she actually does like him as more than just a friend. Steve rolled his eyes but promptly gave Alex two options…. 1. We do this thing and give our relationship a shot, or 2. We remain friends forever….. I think you all know what Alex chose. We moved fast, but when you know you know. Joining families for their first time hosting Thanksgiving and on their first Easter together in Florida, Steve asked Scott and Lisa for their blessing to marry their daughter Alex while she was in the shower. A few short months later, Steve got down on one knee in Myrtle Beach SC, surrounded by both of our families. The best is yet to come for the future Kempers.
