Question

What are the important dates to remember?

Answer

OCTOBER 24: The last day to book a room at the SpringHill Suites under the room block. OCTOBER 26: RSVP deadline NOVEMBER 8: Rehearsal Dinner! NOVEMBER 9: Wedding!

Question

So wait... what's happening after dinner?

Answer

Steve and Kristen aren't huge dancers, so we thought it would be more like us to rather have a firepit and yard games outside after dinner. Please join the bride and groom in changing into comfy clothes and making s'mores on the patio overlooking the inner harbor after the reception.

Question

What's the weather in early November?

Answer

Usually, it will be in the 70s, maybe low 80s during the day. The evenings will likely dip down into the 60s.

Question

What should you wear to the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be outside at 4:00 and should be in the shade. Let's consider the dress code Garden Wedding attire (so semi-formal). Ladies - you can wear heels if you want; there shouldn't be many spots where you'll be walking on grass. Bring a light sweater for inside (this is a general rule in Texas - they keep the AC on COLD).

Question

Any favorite restaurants we should check out?

Answer

If you know either of us, you know this is a silly question. Here are a few of our favorites nearby. TYPICAL CAFE - CLASSIC CAFE | https://seabrookclassiccafe.com Just down the street from LYC, this is where all the locals hang out. If you walk in the back door, walk through to the front (the back is a bar area). Consistently good food any time of day. They are known for their Iceberg mimosas. SEAFOOD - TOPWATER GRILL | https://topwatergrill.com Closer to Galveston than to us, but a fun, low-key place to get good seafood. On the water of the gulf; they have the best oysters according to our friends who have tried them all over the area. SEAFOOD - PIER 6 | https://www.pier6seafood.com Great brunch, a little more bougie than Topwater but still right on the bay. Kristen loves their seafood fondue, Steve likes their pecan wood roasted chicken, but you really can't go wrong. SEAFOOD - FISH & CHIPS HOUSTON | https://www.fishandchipshouston.com We recommend either the cod fish & chips or the steak pie (note they bake these to order so the steak pie will take a little while). Get a side of the curry sauce for the chips. And if you're into tea, you can get a proper cuppa. They are only a few blocks from the Kemah Boardwalk. STEAK AND BURGERS - T-BONE TOM'S | https://tbonetoms.com/ If it's nice, sit out in the tiki bar area. If not, head inside to the original butcher shop space. T-Bone Tom's has all around good food. Burgers, good. Steak, good. Sandwiches, good. They are known for their armadillo eggs (think jalapeno poppers) that were among the items featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. TEX-MEX - PAPPASITO'S CANTINA | https://pappasitos.com/location/56 Kristen prefers the chicken fajitas (get extra garlic butter sauce and thank me later), Steve always gets the crispy beef tacos. *You can find good oysters anywhere in the area, Galveston Bay is a huge oyster bed and produces most of the oysters eaten in the US.
