Wedding Gift
Our Wedding Gift Tradition: The Red Envelope
As we prepare for our big day, many of you have kindly asked about a wedding registry. We have chosen not to accept physical gifts and instead are honoring the Chinese tradition of Hongbao, or the Red Envelope Fund.
In this tradition, guests give a red envelope with a monetary gift as a symbol of good luck, happiness, and blessings for the couple’s future.
If you wish to give, we would be deeply grateful for a contribution to our Red Envelope Fund as we begin our life together.
For those participating, it is customary to give crisp, new bills and choose lucky numbers—especially amounts ending in 8 (wealth) or 9 (longevity). The number 4 is typically avoided. Red Envelopes will be provided at a table when guests arrive at the venue. Please also sign our guest book.
Most importantly, your presence is the greatest gift of all. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
