Welcome!

As Ruby loves to tell everyone, their meet-cute occurred in line for a book during orientation at UC Berkeley the summer of 2014. Ruby found Ben super cute, which Ben claims is bogus, but after exchanging messages on and off throughout that summer, they were finally reunited when they started college in the fall. Feelings developed gradually over the course of multiple meals taken at Cafe 3, boba dates on the Glade and Hearst Mining Circle, and late night treks between Clerk Kerr and Unit 3. Over the years, challenges evolved from finals and ultimate frisbee tournaments, to internships and summer jobs, to work and long-distance as Ben started a new job in San Francisco while Ruby moved to Chicago for medical school in 2019. Despite how busy they were, Ruby and Ben constantly chose to spend time with each other, whether it was a small break between classes to grab coffee, or visiting each others' apartments when the other was busy, or taking weekend trips together all over the Bay. In 2020, Ben moved to Chicago. And two years later, Ben bought a ring and giant bouquet of roses to surprise Ruby with a proposal! If you ask Ruby what Ben's greatest qualities are, she might say something like his competency, his drive to always be better at everything he does, or simply his dashing good looks, but secretly she really just enjoys his reactions to her teasing. If you ask Ben what he loves about Ruby, he might say her strong work ethic, empathy to everyone she meets, or amazing cooking skills, but he loves it most when she laughs (especially if he's the one who made her laugh).
