Yes, most international visitors, including those from the USA, will need a visa to enter India. The easiest option for many travelers is to apply for an e-Visa online before your trip. It’s a straightforward process and usually takes just a few days for approval. Make sure to apply well in advance of your travel date. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please visit the official India Visa Online website (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/).
The most convenient option is to fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi. From there, transportation to Punjab can be arranged for you. Chandigarh International Airport (IXC) is closer to Mohali, but international flight options may be limited. Flying into Delhi and traveling to Punjab by car or bus is a common and reliable route.

The weather is usually cool and pleasant during the day with colder evenings. Expect daytime temperatures around 60–70°F (15–21°C) and nighttime temperatures dropping to 40–50°F (4–10°C). We recommend bringing layers, including a light to medium jacket or shawl, especially for evening events.
India uses the Indian Rupee (INR), which is a closed currency. You likely won’t be able to get it before arriving. We recommend bringing U.S. dollars or another major currency to exchange at the airport, authorized money changers, or banks once you land in India. Most hotels and larger shops accept major credit cards, but it’s always good to have cash for smaller vendors and markets. Let your bank know you're traveling to India to avoid any issues with card use.
We recommend bringing a universal power adapter, India uses 220V outlets. Make sure your electronics are rated for 220V (most modern electronics are) to avoid damage. If your device only supports 110V, you’ll also need a voltage converter to avoid damaging it.
