Rubin Sloan

Warner Robins, Georgia

From the moment we met,

we knew we had something special...

Our journey started at the Savannah College of Art & Design when we were both undergrads. We majored in two different programs, but happened to have several mutual friends. Our paths crossed in a rather calculated manner. Rubin threw weekly gatherings in his dorm room on campus where friends would come together to play games and watch movies. While many mutual friends would frequent his get-together, Tenisha stuck more to enjoying nights alone watching Netflix and working on projects. Eventually she took one of her friends up on an invitation to step outside of her comfort zone, and as people say, the rest is history. Over the course of seven years, our relationship has blossomed. We've managed to withstand distance and overcome hurdles that weren't even fathomable as freshmen in college. From Savannah and Atlanta to Charlotte and DC, we put our all into supporting one another despite life's ups and downs. We always knew that if we kept God at the center of our lives and relationship, He would always make a way even when we couldn't see it. We could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in our journey with each of you, who have played (and will continue to play) such an important part in our adventure! Thank you so much for all of your love and support, and cheers to a lifetime of #ClarkeOnCloudSloan.

Our Nuptials

After Rubin proposed on December 29, 2018, we happily began to plan our wedding to celebrate our love with family and friends later this year in Savannah, GA. During some of the planning stages, we had grown weary of the logistics: cost, managing the guest list, choosing a location, venue and more. Unfortunately in the midst of preparing for our big day, we tragically lost our beautiful close friend Natalie Paige Strauss on April 22, 2019. Natalie was going to be an integral part of our day. She was truly a light in our lives and was so excited to be with us for our special day. In light of her passing, we came to realize how important it is to cherish each loving moment with one another every single day. Stressing over one day and doing something so extravagant and costly just no longer made sense. It simply wouldn’t be the same without Natalie’s presence. We decided to celebrate our love and lives as one on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in basketball shorts and Retro 1’s, a tracksuit and Asics runners. We were surrounded by family and loved ones at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA and wed by our loving father, Pastor David Anthony Clarke, Sr. It was impromptu, spontaneous, and filled with joy and laughter. While we would have loved to celebrate this moment with a number of you from Albany, Charlotte, Atlanta, LA, New York and beyond, we truly appreciate the love and support from afar, and are so excited to embark on this new journey as newlyweds. We ask for your prayers and condolences during this time, and praise God for blessing and keeping us for such a time as this. If you wish to bless us with a gift, our registry is linked above on this site. We ask that you consider contributing to our newlywed and honeymoon fund before purchasing a gift, but we are exceedingly grateful for however God moves your heart to bless us. We love you dearly and look forward to sharing more special moments with each of you.
