Our Story
It all started with a simple question, "Who's that guy doing the mixes at 10 p.m. on Fridays? He's so good!" Helen's friend was in charge of rotating local talent on LatinoMix Radio 93.5 back in 2013, and had him playing on air. "Oh, that's DJ Dex. The kid has talent!" There was no doubt about that! Soon after Helen found out who this DJ Dex was, she started following him on social media and slid in his DMs and asked if he would be kind enough to share his mixes with her via Dropbox so she could listen to them at the gym , so he did. One day they were both invited to a play. Their mutual friend was going to be performing and that's where they officially met. After the play, Ruben invited Helen out for tacos and that was it ladies and gentlemen...he had her at "wanna go get tacos?" KIDDING! After the tacos they remained friends for many years. It was until 2020, right before the pandemic, that they reconnected and realized that they had something special, and well...the rest is history.
