She had just moved into the city; shortly thereafter, so had he. She lives in Queens; he lives in Staten Island — by New York standards, that's quite the distance (a literal long distance relationship). They first met in June 2008 — then surprisingly, again in September 2024. That one fateful Saturday, they met somewhere in Midtown — they shared life stories over antipasti and pizza. That was it... well, until everything changed.
They agreed and were set to watch the Formula 1 Race at a local sports bar in the city. However, as the universe would have it — this conversation transpired while he was in Las Vegas and she was in New York City: He said, "Let's go Miami..." She said, "Hoyyy - wag kang magulo... But yes! Let's go Miami..." He said, "Let's not be too hasty... Let's just do the bar!" She said, "Offer expires at 3pm." He said, "Are we for real?" She said, "I'm for real until 3pm." He said, "The only thing that's holding me back is I need a person to receive my couch... I want Miami..." She asked, "Are you sure?" He said, "Are you kidding me. I want it." It began — and bloomed beneath Miami skies. By the time they flew back to NYC — she asked, "Are we dating?" He nodded his head yes.
The reunion was one of those wild, meet-cute love stories you’d never believe — until it actually happened. From then on, their love only deepened and grew.
He asked her what kind of ring she wanted, and together they went to find it. He got her the very ring — that carries a vow to the past they’ve lived, the present they cherish, and every moment still waiting to unfold.
It was already past 8am, and she still wouldn’t get out of bed, even though they’d agreed to start at 7. She asked if they could just go on without her. He wondered if this was the moment to propose — right there in the Airbnb bedroom. She was gently persuaded out of bed, and he felt an incredible sense of relief. They hiked the Misty Trail, the falls growing louder with each step. Near the top, a double rainbow appeared through the spray. At the peak, the trail disappeared beneath them and the valley stretched endlessly — an unexpected, breathtaking view on a flawless spring morning. He said, "I want to ask you the most important question of my life..." He turned, bent the knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" She asked, "Why?" He answered. She asked, "Are you sure?" He answered. She ultimately answered, "Okay" He is right. Their love story is unpredictable, unforgettable and awe-inspiring.
