While living in Chicago, we always loved going camping during the summertime to escape the city life in our favorite place, Lake Geneva, WI. We always found so much peace and joy while being in nature and Derek thought it would be the perfect place to propose. After spending the day by the lake with our dog, Nola, Derek asked for us to go explore this trail he discovered that circles Lake Geneva. Alexandra, having absolutely no idea, followed along. Although there were many..MANY.. small bugs around the walk, we arrived to a beautiful spot that felt as though everything was cleared just for us with the historic home you see driving into Lake Geneva and is a sign you've arrived. The sun was setting, the sky was beautiful shades of blue, yellow, and pink and Alexandra still had no idea what was about to happen. After Derek noted that we had reached our destination, he got down on one knee and proposed. Obviously, she said yes. We decided on forever together on that special day in our special place, just the two of us, crying, smiling, and with an overwhelming sense of peace.
