“Marriage is of enduring importance. Its essence derives from our human nature and social character. It involves a series of obligations born of love itself, a love so serious and generous that it is ready to face any risk.” -Pope Francis

All About Us

The Wedding Website of Alexandra Voss and Royce Heflin
Here's some FAQs about us, but let us know if there's anything else you're itching to know!
Question

Where did you meet?

Answer

Technically we met in high school, since we both graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 2019, but we didn't start dating until 2020. After the pandemic hit, we started playing D&D over zoom with mutual friends, and a few months in we fell hard for each other! Our first date was on August 20, 2020. We met at my house, on the back porch, and my brothers spent a little too much time with us...(they were just excited to see another human being!) We were told not to touch, but we couldn't help hugging at the end, so we both had to quarantine from our families for two weeks!

Question

When did you get engaged?

Answer

We got engaged on January 28, 2022. We wanted a long engagement so planning wouldn't be as stressful (not sure it helped though, lol). Like her father, Ali does not like surprises, so we both knew about it ahead of time and both bought rings. We climbed a tree together (the same tree we'd climbed on our second date) and took turns proposing.

Question

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Answer

We're headed to the Ouachita Mountains in Oklahoma for a relaxing getaway in nature. Plus, we'll be able to escape the Texas heat! Royce is excited to go hiking and kayaking, and Ali looks forward to seeing historical sites and going horseback riding.

Question

Where will you be living after the wedding?

Answer

We're going to be living in an apartment in North Austin. So far we don't have any plans to leave Austin, since we want to stay close to our families. Though neither of us are from here, we've both become Texans through and through!
