How We Met

A basketball coach + a football coach + a dating app + a hole in the wall bar. John and Aimee met in October 2019 on Bumble after Aimee swiped right on John, and used the pick-up line, "Go Damn Wolves." The couple had their first date at Rohly's Bar (read: the only bar in town that college athletes don't frequent). Two weeks later, John was on Aimee's couch singing all the words to White Christmas. Aimee was beside herself; who was this handsome gentle giant who was funny, and smart, and could cook, AND COULD SING!? The pair were inseparable.

Our Engagement

September 11, 2021

John made a near perfect weekend even sweeter with his proposal to Aimee. Both John and Aimee had family in town for the first game of the 2021 football season. John's mom, Carlyn, and her dear friend, Denise, flew in from the west, while Aimee's parents, Karl and Linda, drove up from Iowa. After an inaugural game and victory for the Wolves in Dacotah Bank Stadium (beating Aimee's alma mater, Southwest Minnesota State University, by the way) John met everyone at home for pizza and drinks. While the rest of the gang was in the living room, John pulled Aimee out on the patio and got down on one knee. Once Aimee realized what was going on, all she could think about was how to get the crackers in her left hand into her right hand. She said yes. Everyone was thrilled. It was a wonderful night to share with their loved ones.
