We met on CMB and struck up a conversation by exchanging travel plans and music tastes. Autumn was surprised by how similar Roy's musical taste was to hers, which was even better than Spotify's recommendations!
We decided to go on their first date at the Huntington Library Museum, definitely unconventional and a large time investment for their first meeting. Autumn's first impression of Roy: "A quiet guy full of interesting trivia who told me a story about the two-faced Roman god Janus. The sculpture we passed earlier now seemed much more interesting and I just had to run back to take a photo." Roy's first impression of Autumn: "She knows how to order good food!"
That day when the entire world was shut down, we opened up to each other. The first time we held hands was in front of a giant sand sculpture of toilet paper rolls at Newport Beach. A short while later, while walking down the pier, an old man passing by exclaimed, "Yes, just like that! Hold your hands like that forever. Never let go!" It wasn't fully apparent to us at the time, but others could already see something special between us.
The first time we travelled together was back to Roy's home in San Francisco for his birthday. Roy showed Autumn where he grew up and Autumn discovers for the first time that Roy is severely allergic to the cold air of San Francisco.
After Roy crashed into Autumn's little studio apartment for 10 months, they decided to move together. They looked for apartments throughout Irvine where they could enjoy good Asian food and be close to their friends. The apartment hunt strengthened their bond because they gained a better understanding of each other's value choices and decision making.
We made the decision to raise our first puppy together! From the moment we laid eyes on Kupo, we knew he would bring immense happiness into our lives. He was a playful and confident pup, always eager to greet anyone he met. Although he occasionally caused trouble, we were able to overcome any challenges that came our way, as a team! It was Kupo who brought us closer together and eventually made us an inseperable family.
After much serious thought, we made the decision to tie the knot! On September 9th, 2022, we gathered at Laguna Hill City Hall to officially sign our marriage certificate and exchange heartfelt vows in the presence of our beloved families and friends. With their blessings and well wishes, we will keep writing our story and fill it with even more love and happiness.
