When should I arrive in Sri Lanka?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding events begin to allow time to travel, settle in, and recover from jet lag. We are arriving Tuesday, June 23.

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo. Galle is approximately a 2–2.5 hour drive from the airport.

How do I get from Colombo to Galle?

Answer

We will be arranging a group car transfer from Colombo (Shangri-La Hotel) to Galle Fort. The transfer time is approximately 2 hours. If you’re staying elsewhere, feel free to meet us at the Shangri-La before departure. For private transfers, please contact Nadine.

Do I need a visa to enter Sri Lanka?

Yes, most travellers will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which can be applied for online prior to arrival. Apply here: https://evisatravel.org/srilanka/

What is the weather like?

Answer

Sri Lanka is warm year-round. Expect tropical temperatures with sunshine and occasional short showers. Light, breathable fabrics are ideal.
