We are providing a Lyft rideshare event code to help everyone get to the wedding and back safely. The link is good for $35 towards rides that start or end at the wedding venue on Saturday. You can enter the code ROXDAN2023 in the Lyft App, or follow this link to use it -> https://lyft.com/lp/ROXDAN2023. Ride shares and taxis are ubiquitous in the Bay Area. And there is ample parking on site for any people who would like to drive themselves, responsibly of course. (Note: For some reason the Lyft App lists the address as being in Berkeley, not Kensington. As long as it's the Unitarian Church of Berkeley, you have the right place.)
We wanted a venue with a beautiful outdoor space for our wedding ceremony, both to symbolize the role the outdoors have always played in our relationship, and to showcase our chosen home of the East Bay in its beautiful late summer splendor. And while religion does not play much of a role in our lives, UUCB represents a diverse, inclusive community that we feel aligns with our values.
As long as you inform us of any dietary restrictions in your RSVP, we will make sure there is good food for you to eat!
Dan and Roxanne will be wearing semi-formal fun wedding attire. We’d love for our guests to join us in wearing clothes that make them feel celebratory and creative. This could mean sundresses, suits, khakis, jumpsuits, collared shirts, ties, scarves, or maybe it means something else to you! Truly, we just want you to be comfortable and be yourselves so wear what makes you happy!
In the East Bay in August, the weather is almost guaranteed to be sunny. Daytime temps could be anywhere from the low 70s to the 90s, and will likely quickly cool 10-15 degrees when the sun goes down. In the hills and shady forests, expect cooler temperatures. In San Francisco weather varies quickly, expect a mixture of sun, fog, and wind at all times.
Yes! The main entrance at the front of UUCB is wheelchair accessible, as are all areas we’ll be using for our wedding ceremony and reception.
Car break-ins have, unfortunately, become very common in the Bay Area, particularly Oakland and San Francisco. We strongly suggest that you never leave any bags or bulky items visible in an unattended parked car, and preferably not even in the trunk.
