One Summer night at The Shark, we both came to visit our friend not knowing we were being set up to meet. I was outside helping roll silverware, while our best friend, Victoria, was secretly cooking something up that night. Grant had just gotten back to the marina from a fishing trip and decided to head to The Shark to say “hi” with his brother, Ross. Neither of us knew we would be meeting that night. SURPRISE! I walked back inside with silverware and was shocked to see Grant sitting at the bar. Grant may have stuttered when introducing himself, which I thought was sweet. We did a whole lot of talking, laughing, and dancing before the night was over. Not long after, I made the move from Salisbury, MD to Manheim, PA. Grant got me good the night he proposed. At the time we were looking for a new home, so he told me to get dressed so we could look at a house nearby. It started to get dark, and happy little old me was just along for the ride even though I thought…”What are we even going to see in the dark?” Grant asked me if I wanted to check out Speedwell Forge and of course I said, “Sure!” Not a soul was there except us and a State Trooper in the parking lot watching the show. It started to drizzle as I walked to the boat ramp. I turned around to see Grant on one knee, and of course I said “Yes!!!” It has been over a year full of new and exciting adventures together. Fishing, hikes, mountain trips, wedding planning, me starting a new job last Summer, adopting our kittens Bunker & Squid, and building a new home…we are looking forward to what else our future has to bring! We cannot wait to have the best wedding ever! Love, Roxanne & Grant
