Serban and Roxana were introduced by a mutual friend who noticed a coincidence that felt too good to ignore: in 2023, they were both moving to Gainesville, Florida - Serban to begin his medical residency, and Roxana to start dental school. Fate stepped in almost immediately. Serban sent his very first message to Roxana, unknowingly on her birthday, and from that moment on, conversation flowed effortlessly. As two Romanians navigating a new city, demanding programs, and the excitement (and uncertainty) of new beginnings, they quickly became each other’s constant. Those early months were spent exploring Gainesville, supporting one another through long days of school and training, and building a friendship that soon grew into something much deeper. What began as a well-timed introduction turned into a partnership rooted in shared values, faith, culture, and a deep sense of home - no matter where life takes them. On November 10th, 2024, Serban planned a quiet escape to Winter Park - a rare respite from the pace of residency and dental school. After a boat ride through the scenic canals, Roxana admired a particularly beautiful spot along the shore: Azalea Garden, unaware that Serban had already chosen that very place for something unforgettable. In the stillness of that intimate moment, a beautiful pause in an otherwise busy chapter of life, Serban proposed - and Roxana, without hesitation, said yes.
