Ivan and I met at Central London Adventist Church in late 2023, but what makes it even more special is that it was my first time going back to that church in a few years. I had never seen Ivan before, and somehow, on the very first day I returned, I met him. Both of us have always been quite shy, so honestly, I truly believe only God could have arranged this so perfectly. That day, Ivan came and sat next to me and, even more surprisingly, started a conversation, something he usually doesn’t do with new people. From that moment, we instantly clicked. We stayed friends for a while before starting to date about a year later. Since then, we’ve shared many adventures and stood by each other through both the beautiful moments and the difficult ones, learning to some extent what “for better or worse” means. Earlier this year, we travelled to Madeira together. Knowing how much I love watching the stars, Ivan asked me to join him for a quiet moment under the night sky. There weren’t many stars that evening, but he had planned ahead and brought one of his own. He pulled a ring out of his pocket and asked me, in Romanian, if I would marry him. Of course I said yes, I’d have to be at least a little crazy not to.
